Giclee Printing

What is giclee printing?

At our West Cork studio, each wall artwork is created using the giclée printing process, a method renowned for its high quality and longevity. Derived from the French word "gicler," meaning "to spray," the Giclée technique utilises high-resolution inkjet printing to produce stunningly detailed reproductions of the original artwork.

Giclée prints are produced with a resolution of up to 2880 DPI (dots per inch), capturing the finest brushstrokes, colour gradients, and textures of the original painting. This meticulous attention to detail ensures that every nuance of Geraldine's work is faithfully preserved. Using archival-grade pigment inks, the giclée process replicates the rich, vibrant colours of the original artwork. These inks are specially formulated to resist fading, allowing the prints to maintain their brilliance for over 100 years when properly cared for.

Each print is rendered on museum-grade, cotton archival paper, chosen for its weight, texture, and durability. This luxurious, acid-free paper not only enhances the depth and richness of colour but also prevents yellowing and deterioration over time.

All of Geraldine's giclée prints are part of a limited-edition series, ensuring exclusivity and value for collectors.

What framing options are available?

Our square prints are available framed. For our square 29cm x 29cm prints, we are pleased to offer a framing option, handcrafted using only the finest solid wood and finished in a painted wood finish. This option provides a seamless and elegant presentation, perfectly sized to showcase the artwork's detail and character

Due to the unique dimensions of our portrait and landscape art prints—65cm x 43cm (portrait), 43cm x 65cm (landscape), we always recommend opting for a custom frame to ensure the perfect fit. A custom frame not only preserves the integrity of the artwork but also allows for the ideal amount of spacing and matting to enhance its visual impact.
