Situated inland from the Long Strand and where the townland of Castlefreke meets the coast, Kilkern lake sits in the magical space between land and sea. This calm body of water is home to a multitude of local fauna, who find shelter behind the dunes and in the long grasses.
The Margin, Kilkern Lake was inspired by the close study of this landscape, local to the artist.
